Lessons

lessonAll lessons are given in the one-to-one bases and it takes place in student’s home.

In my lessons, I aim to create a relaxed, student-centred environment, where I invite the student to be as inquisitive and creative as possible. I teach through encouragement, praise and respect for each student’s talents. I have a flexible approach to my teaching, finding every individual’s particular musical path, so you can achieve exactly what you want to!

Students are highly recommended to explore various sounds on piano and correct use of their body and develop their musicality and talent. I believe a piano is a tool to express and convey your feelings rather than just a musical instrument.

On top of the technical and musical aspects of how to play piano, here are some of the other elements incorporated in the lessons if you wish to learn.

  • Sight-Reading
  • Scales
  • Music theory
  • ABRSM exam preparation

Style

Lessons are taught mainly in the classical style in order to understand the basics of reading music and playing piano however I am happy to incorporate some pieces from other styles if you wish to learn them. Above all playing the pieces that you love is the fastest way to improve!

No time to practice?

Not to worry! Although learning piano requires certain amount of practicing, preferably everyday even for just 10 or 15 minutes, I also understand that not everyone has the time to practice everyday with everything going on in their life especially the adult students. So at least once a week we can practice together in the lesson developing your finger muscles and precision where I can give you advice on the most effective way of practicing!

Your First Lesson

If you have some experience in learning piano, you are invited to show me some of the pieces you have been working on and play me one or two pieces you have learnt so that I can see your level and your future piano requirements (you don’t need to be able to play them perfectly!)

If you are a complete beginner I will take care of the programme.
